Welcome!

Welcome to my website! I am honoured that you have decided to check it out. I’ll be the first to admit, this site is rather on the crumby side. I’m not at all adept at building websites, but it does what I want it to do and that’s good enough for me. Whether you are an Elite Dangerous Commander or a Rush fan, or maybe even both, you will hopefully find something that will interest you here.

For now, though, I will give you all a run down on the three commanders (all my Elite Dangerous accounts) who will be contributing to these pages.

This is me! My main account! I can’t remember exactly when I began playing Elite Dangerous but I do remember my son downloading it first on his PC and having a very hard time docking at the first Coriolis space station. Not too long afterwards I bought it too (around 2018 I think, maybe a bit earlier, certainly before fleet carriers were a thing) and have been playing it almost exclusivley ever since.

During summer of 2021 my PC broke down and, in order to carry on playing I bought Elite Dangerous on PlayStation (also with a Cmdr Homborger) and that is where the RushFleet began. It is why all the screenshots for each ship of the RushFleet was taken on the Legacy version of Elite Dangerous. Since then I had one of those milestone birthdays (which one I am certainly not going to volunteer here, bearing in mind I played the original Elite on the ZX Spectrum in my teens back in ’85) and my wonderful family bought me a far more powerful PC with which I could finally upgrade from Elite Dangerous: Horizons to Elite Dangerous: Odyssey. From then on, both accounts ran simultaneously although I was far more obsessed with the RushFleet on the PS at the time rather than engaging with the previously unvailable running around on foot that the Odyssey expansion had to offer.

Some of you may be rather disappointed to learn that Freya is, in fact, just one of my alternate Elite Dangerous accounts. I’m a Fuel Rat and I enjoy Ratting, yet I also wanted to go out exploring. hoping to spend months on end in the black. Sadly, it would mean having to give up Ratting back in the Bubble. I created Cmdr Freya Crescent, intending for her to Rat away in the Bubble whilst I was gallivanting all over the galaxy. However (and the reason now escapes me completely), it was she who ended up going on a trip to the farthest edge of Tenebrae some 60-70 thousand light years there and back, in her Asp Explorer, Sir Fratley, leaving me behind not doing much of anything back in the Bubble.

She’s convinced they are the reincarnations of her friends Zidane, Vivi, Dagger (Princess Garnet), Steiner, Quina, Eiko and Amarant. She, quite unlike the FFIX character however, is willing to steal, assasinate, smuggle, sabotage and scam to achieve her goals.

I have found role playing in the galaxy of Elite Dangerous a uniquely exhilerating experience. Freya is such a refreshing change from what I normally get up to in game.

Once the RushFleet was complete, all ships and the carrier puchased and their relevant pages published, there wasn’t much to do on the Playstation account. I was now far more eager to get to grips with Odyssey on my new, powerful PC gaming rig. Freya was on her way to Tenebrae and that trip was taking up most of my in game time. I was really looking forward to the time when Odyssey would be finally released on console! I was keen go right back through the fleet, engineering the ships I hadn’t had a chance to the first time around and looking at them through the sort of perspective only Odyssey would allow.

I was gutted, although not half as upset as Cmdrs who could only play the game on console and I can fully sympathise with their anger. I was really looking forward to bringing the RushFleet to Odyssey. I thought that was that, yet to my relief and utter amazement Frontier went out of their way to give all console commanders the option to transfer everything from their console accounts to a free copy of Elite Dangerous Horizons on PC. Everyting except squadron membership, ARX and Fleet Carrier ownership would be transferred over.

And so here we are! Slowly ploughing through the RushFleet once more, looking at all the ships all over again from a fresh perspective. I am also working on bringing a new feature to the site. There hasn’t been anywhere near enough Rush content so I’m working slowly to resolve that. Check back for this soon!

We’ll see how it goes shall we?

But, for now, please enjoy the site!
