Album 12/Ships 23+24

Hold Your Fire was the first modern Rush album I bought and the third Rush album overall after Moving Pictures and Farewell To Kings. I wanted to hear how Rush sounded in the present day as well as back in the late seventies. Like a lot of older bands I’d tried, the modern stuff just didn’t compare with the older stuff. This was different! I loved this album as soon as I heard it. I mean, sure there were a lot more keyboards but it was still wonderful to listen to. A lot of Rush fans find this album in particular to be far too keyboard heavy and dismiss it, but I really love this album! The songs on here are all wonderful. My favourites would be the track Time Stand Still, featuring some of Neil’s best lyrics, and also the wonderful Mission. Although every track on this album is marvellous!

Viper Mk IV

Two more small fighters, and time for some more pew-pew! Ok, the Viper Mk IV this time. I’ll admit I wasn’t expecting much from this ship but Prime Mover turned out to be a very tough, capable and versatile little ship. Same hardpoints as her sister the Viper Mk III and not as fast. She will, however, last a lot longer in a fight. Also has a decent jump range, fuel tank and a little cargo space if you want to use her for light cargo running missions.

I really need to work on my screenshot skills, especially in combat. Anyway, I really enjoyed bounty hunting in her. Give her a decent level of engineering (I went with all multi-cannons – I LOVE multi-cannons) she will not let you down. Managed to strip a competent anaconda’s shields in seconds with this ship, and she took the punishment in return!

Vulture

Well, if the Viper Mk IV is tough, then this ship is the toughest little ship in the entire fleet. The Force Ten manages to punch way above her weight! With two large hardpoints on a small, fast, manoeuvrable beast, I took this lady out and had more fun than I ever thought possible. It’s not as versatile as the Viper Mk IV, but she’s not really meant to be!

I just had to engineer her as thoroughly as I could. That’s why it took me such a while to get this part of the website out. All those extra engineers and by golly it was worth it! Fully tinkered shields with a pair of fully tinkered shield boosters gave me almost as much protection as my Cutter! Add to that the engineered hull and hull reinforcement…

YOU NEED THIS SHIP!
